Back to search results Semiconductor Test Architect Cupertino, California, United States Hardware Submit Resume Summary Posted: Nov 04, 2025 Role Number: 200629677-0836 At Apple, the Camera Semiconductor Technologies team is responsible for the research and development of semiconductor solutions across multiple platforms, from CMOS image sensors for the cameras, to lasers for the Face ID and LiDAR Scanners modules. We are looking for an experienced Test Architect to spearhead our efforts in test strategies and solutions, to meet Apple’s high standards for performance, reliability, safety and cost. Description As a Semiconductor Test Architect, you will be responsible for defining scalable hardware test solutions, to support a wide range of semiconductor technologies going into Apple’s product lines, from iPhone, Mac, Watch to Vision. Responsibilities Define, document and implement custom test systems, with attention to details. Collaborate with design, verification and operation teams through the complete product cycles. Provide quality assessments and regular updates to facilitate decision making. Lead proof-of-concepts and evaluate emerging tools and technologies in test engineering. Contribute to core IP development. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience in the engineering field. Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: lasers, LEDs, optics, photodiodes, or camera sensors. Experience with one or more of the following optical metrology equipment: power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, spectrometers, oscilloscope or cameras. Preferred Qualifications M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials, Physics, Mechanical, Computer or Electrical Engineering. 10+ years Experience with wafer industries or other high volume mass production facilities. Experience with one or more of the following test hardware: wafer-level handler, probe cards, ATE (Automated Test Equipment), or motorized stages. Demonstrated capability to collaborate cross-functionally with teammates and partners. Proficiency in verbal and written communication. Critical thinking and trouble shooting skills. Ability to self-motivate, adapt, and innovate. Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
