Description
We’re looking for people who love to build extraordinary products help us build frameworks used by a multitude of the Apple community. This role requires working closely with multi-functional teams to optimally coordinate the sophisticated interdependencies inherent to our ecosystem. Ensuring quality in every deliverable, creative thinking, strong problem solving, and the ability to collaborate with other multi- functional teams in a dynamic setting are meaningful attributes which will serve you well in this role.
Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and implementing software solutions, using Java and web frameworks, for high scale Services.
Drive architectural improvements, performance optimization, and technical debt reduction for long-term scalability.
Collaborate through code reviews, shadowing senior developers, and understanding cross-functional workflows.
Take ownership of increasingly complex features, leading debugging efforts and improving internal tools and testing coverage.
Partner proactively with Product, QA, and Ops to manage dependencies and ensure high-quality, reliable releases.
Triage, investigate, and remediate production and operational issues.
Champion process enhancements in CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 3+ years equivalent work experience
Solid software engineering fundamentals — including data structures & algorithms, object-oriented design, and concurrency
Experience in building high scale backend distributed systems using public cloud technologies
Strong Java expertise - including but not limited to: Core Java, Multithreading, non-blocking IO
Experience with modern web technologies like HTML5, CSS, Javascript and its frameworks
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity using AI for software development and maintenance, developing machine learning systems, ML frameworks, libraries and algorithms is desirable but not required.
Familiarity with GitHub, build and deployment tools like Maven, Docker, Spinnaker, Kubernetes
Knowledge and experience working with CI/CD tools integration/operations, and full automation testing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive in a multi-functional team on high-profile, critical projects
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
