The Photos Intelligence team in Camera & Photos develops privacy-respecting, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies to ship Photos features and emotional experiences to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Cupertino and be a part of this mission. Description In this role, you will be working on ideating and developing privacy preserving machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI algorithms for Apple Intelligence Photos features. Candidates should have a proven track record that demonstrates a deep understanding of AI and ML technologies, a passion for designing and developing high-quality software, strong collaboration, and excellent interpersonal skills. Minimum Qualifications Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field Strong machine learning and deep learning fundamentals Hands on experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt optimization, and fine tuning of LLMs Strong programming and software engineering experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, C, C++, Swift Preferred Qualifications Experience optimizing Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms for embedded systems Experience with large vision-language and multi-modal foundation models Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
